This is the children’s cubby house that has taken the internet by a storm – and it’s $199 from Kmart.
The original design features natural timber panelling and is highly customisable, lending itself to the perfect hack. Australian mums can’t get enough of it, sharing their pimped-out cubbies on social media.
Product stylist Alicia Adams (of Hudson and Harlow) transformed her kids’ cubby house into a stylish Hamptons-style retreat, complete with carefully manicured flower boxes and outdoor decking.
Armed with a spray gun, she madeover the miniature house with Dulux Weathershield paint in Vivid White. The cubby also features Ikea’s Duktig children’s kitchen for the ultimate pretend-play experience.
Meanwhile, Perth blogger Kyree Harvey gave her daughter’s cubby a festive makeover for Christmas, showcasing a red front door, co-ordinating red print curtains and fairy lights. An Ikea snowflake doormat completed the cheery look.
Even Sydney PR supremo Roxy Jacenko hacked the Kmart cubby, giving it a stylish makeover with a pastel blue exterior and a white trim.
“We’re very humbled to see our Kmart product hacked and personalised by our customers,” a Kmart spokeswoman told news.com.au.
“Their creativity and love of the product is very inspiring,” she said.
