On the list, Kelsey mentions breathing exercises. Something the Anxiety Centre says can “cause the body to trigger a natural tranquillising effect.”
Hugs are also helpful. “Sometimes, a really big, loose, long hug will help me feel safe,” Kelsey adds.
At number 13, Kelsey says: “Tell me not to fight it – rather, let it pass through me. The more I try to control it, (or for YOU to try and control it) the worse it will be.”
Lastly, Kelsey asks her boyfriend to empathise with her. “You may not get it, but you get me.”
Since posting, the tweet has been shared over 7,000 times with many people thanking Kelsey for sharing.
“This is the best thing you’ve ever written,” one user commented.
Another added: “This is so helpful. I totally get you. Thanks for sharing.”
