4 things that make you age quicker

The last one might surprise you

Aging is one of those things that many of us don’t think about until the first wrinkle has already shown up. The key to postponing the visible signs of aging is to prevent exposing your skin and body to the things that cause them.

You are what you eat

Consuming too much sugar can have a negative effect on your skin over time, as sugar glycates the collagen and stiffens it, making skin more vulnerable to fine lines and wrinkles. Try filling your plate with leafy green veggies, salmon or blueberries instead.

Avoid alcohol

Alcohol dehydrates you, and dehydrated skin will not only age quicker, but it will make rosacea worse. If hydration is a concern for you, consider adding products with Hyaluronic Acid to your regimen. Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance found in the skin that keeps it refreshed, stable and encourages skin cell renewal.

Rethink your sheets

Silk pillowcases are heralded for their soft texture that stops your face and skin from being pulled and wrinkled during your sleep. Sheets and pillowcases with rough textures or fabrics can wreak havoc on your skin and lead to wrinkling and other blemishes.

Walk with care

For those of us who live in a polluted city, just walking outside can damage your skin. Not only should you worry about sun exposure, but pollution is an environmental aggressor that produces free radicals, which can damage skin. The best thing to do is use sunscreen daily, exfoliate regularly and use products loaded with antioxidants.
