If you regularly use a clothes dryer, you would know the impact it has on your electricity bill.
Speaking to Sunrise, cleaning expert Shannon Lush says that while she hates using a dryer, there is a way to reduce your drying time and in turn your bill.
“Stick a dry tea towel in with your wash and your wash will dry a third faster,” Lush said.
“It wicks the water away and spreads the surface area for the dryer to do its work,” she added.

When it comes to fabric softener, Lush isn’t a fan of that either, claiming it doesn’t work.
Instead, she recommends adding vinegar to a load of washing.
“Use the white vinegar instead of fabric softener – fabric softener does not work at all,” Shannon said.
“Fabric softener is just oil based and all it is doing is sticking oil in the wash. Put the vinegar in the fabric conditioner slot – there’s no smell left at all.
“The one thing people complain about is that there is no fragrance and a lot of people use fabric softeners because of the fragrance. You can add fragrance oil if you want but for goodness sake use the tiniest amount, just one drop of lavender oil.”
