This is what it means when you have a dream about death

It doesn't mean what you think it means.

For many of us, a dream is something we barely remember when the alarm goes off in the morning. However, some dreams leave a greater impression upon our mind than others, and those dreams are usually about death.

If you found yourself dreaming about your own death or the death of a loved one over the holiday period, it turns out you probably aren’t alone. Dreaming about death is very common over holiday periods such as Christmas, New Years, School holidays and Easter. So, why is that?

Dream experts hypothesise that it’s because at these times of the year people tend to be thinking more about the things they’re going to quit or put a stop to, such as stop eating sugar, stop skipping the gym or stop paying for an unnecessarily streaming service.

These thoughts of quitting, stopping or ‘killing off’ something have an effect on our unconscious mind, which manifests as a dream about death. A dream about death can also be our minds way of dealing with daily stress

In fact, dream experts say that these dreams of death help us let go of old thoughts, feelings and behaviours and prepare us for a brighter future.

So next time you have a bad dream about falling off a cliff, rest assured that it isn’t a bad omen. It’s simply your brain unconsciously thinking about your decision to cut sugar from your diet.
