Sir David Beckham has become quite the gardener over the past few years, and in 2026, he will be sharing his green thumb at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show.
David is joining forces with fellow patron of The King’s Foundation, Alan Titchmarsh, and debut garden designer, Frances Tophill, to create a ‘curious’ Show Garden. And it’s all in support of King Charles’ charity, The King’s Foundation.
This exciting news comes shortly after David was knighted by King Charles III at Windsor Castle on November 4, 2025, for his services to sport and charity, earning the official title of Sir David Beckham.
What is David’s part in the garden show?
David will be involved in creating the ‘Curious Garden’ at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show on 19 May – 23 May 2026. It will reflect the experience of someone who is new to gardening and is curious to try new things. It’s perfectly fitting for David, considering his recent love and passion for gardening, which we have been following on his Instagram since the beginning.
“I’ve experienced how rewarding gardening can be and that’s why I’m looking forward to working with The RHS and The King’s Foundation on their Curious Garden,” David said, according to Gardeners’ World. “I hope we inspire people to get outside into nature and to try something new.”
Who is designing the ‘curious’ garden showcase?
Gardeners’ World presenter Frances Tophill will be designing the garden, making her debut as a designer at the Chelsea Flower Show.
She told Gardeners’ World: “The garden is about experimentation, when you’re new to gardening, you just want to try loads of different things. And the hope is that this garden will show that and encourage more people to try gardening. I’m thrilled to… explore my own curiosity about plants and their vital role in bringing health to people and to planet.”

Will the garden be judged?
It’s important to note that the ‘Curious’ Show Garden is being created for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show as a showcase garden. It will not be judged. After the Flower Show, the garden will be moved to another space with intention to bring nature into an urban setting. Its focus is to support young adults, and the exact location will be announced in 2026.
David’s history with The King’s Foundation
The King’s Foundation is a charity that leads peacemaking and regeneration projects in the UK and overseas to revitalise communities and historic buildings, and David has been an ambassador since June 2024.
At the time, he said, “I’m excited to be working with The King’s Foundation and to have the opportunity to help raise awareness of the charity’s work. I’ve always been keen to help young people to expand their horizons and I’m particularly looking forward to supporting the Foundation’s education programmes and its efforts to ensure young people have greater access to nature.”
What happened at the 2025 RHS Chelsea Flower Show?
Last year, David attended the RHS Chelsea Flower Show to show his support, and the rare Aussie orchids won gold.
