Coles’ slushie maker has shoppers confused – here’s what’s going on

First, there was Ninja, then Big W, ALDI, Kmart, Bunnings and Spotlight all jumped on the bandwagon. However, despite it being available everywhere, shoppers still can’t seem to get their hands on one, and even if they can, many have no idea which brand to choose.

While scrolling through Facebook, we came across a post about the Coles slushie machine in the Oh So Busy Mums group. Their announcement read: “Coles now have a $169 slushy machine from Friday, 21st November. Looks very similar to the Kmart one and does ice cream!”

What do the shoppers have to say?

The post had almost 350 comments, and it’s a chaotic read filled with confused and unhappy shoppers.

“There’s soooo many [slushie machines] on the market now. How do people know which one to get? I almost went and bought a Ninja today, but then heard and saw that Big W, Aldi, Bunnings AND Coles are all jumping on the bandwagon… I’m so confused,” one person commented.

“The Coles five minutes down the road from me in a major shopping centre is only getting one, so I wouldn’t hold my breath. They know how much people want them, but still don’t seem to stock enough for all stores — and only one on a Black Friday sale definitely isn’t good enough,” said another.

Despite the frustration around limited availability, some dedicated shoppers are willing to do whatever it takes to secure one.

“I’m turning up to Coles at open. I got the Kmart one online, and they cancelled it,” one person shared.

“I’ll be trying to order one. Still waiting for Kmart to drop more… they said mid-November for the next shipment, and it’s still unavailable online.”

“I’ve already called in late to work on Wednesday to try to grab a Kmart one. If that falls through, I’ll pre-call in late on Friday and try for this one.”
