Rue Mupedzi is no stranger to serving up fancy, complex, and truly impressive dishes, night after night. After all, she’s been on MasterChef twice now, so when Rue told us her go-to lazy dinner, we were surprised at what she brought to the table.

It requires no effort, no cooking, and is cheaper than a chocolate bar. But it’s pretty genius and something I’m sure we’re all guilty of having every now and then.

“If I don’t feel like cooking, I’m not cooking!” she laughs. “I’m having Weet-bix, oats, or some kind of cereal.”

We can hear the haters saying “breakfast for dinner is not acceptable.”

But frankly, we disagree. It’s a popular swap, with many dubbing it ‘brinner’. Plus, just check out all the arguments on Reddit that are entirely valid.

“That’s the thing about being an adult. You can eat what you want, when you want to. There’s no rules!” one person says.

“A bowl of cereal at any time of the day SLAPS, especially at 1:26 am”, “Breakfast for dinner? Who cares? I’ll have bacon and eggs at 6 pm”, “I had a frozen burrito and pb sandwich for dinner last night, you can eat whatever you want,” comment others.

Sometimes, breakfast for dinner hits, but of course, in moderation, everything is fine.

Incorporating nutrients with your cereal dinner is key, or why not put in a little effort and have a homey, delicious breakfast for dinner?
