Dr Harry visits a border collie who herds cars

Last week, Dr Harry met Tassie, a re-homed border collie who has picked up the bad habit of chasing cars up and down the fence line of her new home. Of course, there aren’t any sheep in the suburbs, so Dr Harry’s taking Tassie to the sheep! At a special dog training facility in the country, Dr Harry gives Tassie some replacement therapy to work through her deeply ingrained instincts… by herding real animals instead of cars.

Part 1

Dr Harry, meets a couple who re-homed a Border Collie, but quickly found out how strong the herding instinct is in this working breed. Without any sheep to herd in the city, their new dog Tassie, tries to herd cars from behind their fence, as they drive by. While this behaviour isn’t hurting anyone or even Tassie herself, it is something that needs to be controlled. Can Harry give them the tools to train Tassie to curb the instincts that are so deeply embedded in her DNA?
