McDonald’s Big Mac may be one of the world’s most renowned junk foods, but it’s the mysterious special sauce that really sets it apart.
Nobody knows exactly what’s in it, although many people have tried to replicate it.
The fast food giant released a limited edition of its Special Sauce in the U.S, but it has never been available in Australia.
But that’s all changed thanks to the launch of Coles’ Special Burger Sauce. Sold in a 360g bottle for $2.75, it’s scored only two stars on the health star rating, although it boasts no artificial colours and flavours.
The condiment has created a stir on social media, with many Big Mac fans claiming that it tastes exactly like McDonald’s special sauce.
A Coles spokeswoman told BuzzFeed “our Product Development Team worked on the sauce for 18 months” and is always “closely monitoring emerging food trends”.
