Whether you’re baking a cake or roasting some pork, are you guilty of always using your oven on the fan-forced setting? Don’t worry. You’re not alone.

A recent study by appliance manufacturer, Smeg, revealed that Australian home cooks aren’t making the most of their ovens.
Findings included that 49% of respondents who use an oven admit to not fully understanding how to use the majority of their oven settings. It comes to no surprise that 64% of Australians who use an oven, will set theirs to 180 degrees fan-forced, regardless of what they’re cooking, despite a host of other functions available for use.
However, despite home chefs not making full use of their oven, there is a hunger to learn more about the different settings, with 44% of respondents who use an oven indicating so.
The research comes as Smeg launches its most innovative oven, the Smeg Galileo with multi-cooking technology. The Galileo can barbecue, air fry, steam, microwave and even stone baking alongside traditional settings.
It also introduces two cooking game-changing features, Multistep, a ‘set and forget’ mode to sequentially set cooking modes, and Sametime, allowing two dishes to be made at the same time, with no transfer of taste or smell.
