To the delight of those trying to save a few dollars at the moment (and let’s be honest, who isn’t?), Choice has unearthed the best dishwashing detergent on the market.

Excelling in both affordability and performance, the crown goes to everyone’s favourite bargain supermarket Aldi.
At only 19 cents per wash, the Aldi Logix Platinum 18 in 1 dishwashing tablets came in first place with a Choice expert rating of 79%.
In second place was Finish Powerball Ultimate Plus All in 1 Lemon Sparkle. But at $1.87 a wash, it’s almost 10 times the price of Aldi’s Logix Platinum product.
The testing
Forty different dishwasher tablets were tested for their performance on various difficult-to-clean food products, including Bolognese sauce, red wine and the famously tough egg yolk. Aldi outperformed all the more expensive brands on dried-on food stains and even that pesky, often glue-like egg.
While this bargain is a sure-fire hit, just make sure you grab the right one as not all Aldi products hit the mark (the Aldi detergent powder only scored 54%).
For those who don’t have access to an Aldi nearby but still want to spend under $1 per wash, the Choice experts recommend the Earth Choice Dish Tablets Lemon Fragrance, coming in at $0.42 per wash and a rating of 75%.
So now you know you can save yourself a few dollars next time you’re out shopping with the confidence that your dishes will be cleaned to the highest standard.
