Plastic containers are the first step to get sorted. Group similar items together and if you go with clear containers you can easily see what’s inside. If you get a set with different sizes that are stackable, you can create a tower of tidiness and make better use of the space.

Don’t forget the door!

The back of the cupboard door is an often overlooked storage spot. While a swing out garbage bin is a common sight, it’s also a great spot for a host of other things. Slide a couple of over-door hooks on the door and hang items off them. A wire basket rack is perfect for keeping all your cleaning items together and makes them easier to get to. No more rummaging around the cupboard, they’re ready to go as soon as you open the door.

Sitting things up on a raised stand let’s you use more of the space towards the top of the cupboard, which is usually wasted. Another nifty trick is to place your bottles of cleaning products on a turntable. No more rummaging around in the back of the cupboard to find what you’re after, simply spin it around and let it come to you.

To brighten up the dark recesses at the back of the cupboard, a couple of LED push lights are the answer. They’re battery operated and include an adhesive pad so you can put them wherever you need them.

Wire racks that slide out from the cabinet solve those back of the cupboard blues. Everything slides right out where you can see it, while the wire baskets keep everything contained.
