If you think you’ve nailed the humble act of peeling a carrot or a potato, think again.
Australian TikTok user Liv Dalton has posted footage of herself peeling a carrot with an unusual technique, moving it up and down the carrot continuously using both sides of the blade.
It’s faster than the traditional method of using the peeler one way and with one blade.

The food hack made waves on the social media platform, with one user saying that she looked like a “pro who had done a lot of practice”.

“I thought the other side of the blade was just for left-handed people to use. This is the first time I’ve seen it done this way,” said one person.
“What in the world! I’m going to have to try this now that I know it works,” added another.
Professional chefs chimed in, saying that they had never heard of this technique.
The video has been watched almost 2,000 times on TikTok.
