Dough styling

Give your pie or tart an attractive edge:
- Crimped with fingers
- Square edge
- Twisted edge
- Round edge
- Pressed fork edge
- Small leaf edge

Using cookie cutters, cut out various shapes from excess dough to decorate your pie or tart. They could be anything from shapes of animals, hearts or stars, to more conventional circles or squares – you could even cut out letters of the alphabet to write out words or names.

Create a lattice with ease by using a 5cm square cutter to cut a lattice-like grid out of your excess dough.
Pie-making tools

Use utensils that have been specially created for use on non-stick cookware, so you don’t damage the surface of your pie tin. They are available from kitchen stores and supermarkets.
