How to correctly carve a Christmas ham

An easy guide with video demonstration.

Is there anything more traditional than a lovely Christmas ham to celebrate the most wonderful day of the year? We think not! Unfortunately, cooking a ham to perfection, then slicing it with grace, isn’t exactly the easiest of skills to master if you aren’t naturally inclined towards cooking.

Never fear, for we have an abundance of Christmas ham recipe HERE, and an easy guide to slicing your Christmas ham correctly below!

  1. Run a small, sharp knife under the rind, then cut around the bottom and side anout halfway up.
  2. Slide hand under the skin gently and ease the rind away from the fat. Peel back slowly.
  3. Use a knife to cut the rind at the bottom of the leg and pull the rind totally off.
  4. Turn the ham over and remove any excess skin and fat.
  5. Start slicing the ham on a slight angle.
  6. Turn the ham over once more and slice the ham until your reach the bone.
  7. Once bone is visible, run the knife around the tip of the bone, then continue slicing.
