Aldi is well known for useful and unique Special Buys, as well as budget-friendly groceries. This includes a range of everyday products and brands you can only get at Aldi.

And one of the most popular is the Ready to Cook Boneless Butterflied Chicken.

The chicken is so good, it’s previously been voted one of the top 10 favourite products by shoppers. It also shows up regularly in easy and affordable recipes.

Why is it so popular?

This has to be one of the easiest ways to prepare chicken and whip up a meal. The butterflied chicken can be cooked in the oven as it is, taking around 40 minutes for each kilogram of meat. That gives you time to whip up a salad or side-dish, or to cook other things for a one-pan wonder.

Mums in the Aldi Mum’s Facebook group love the Boneless Butterflied Chicken so much that some of the recipes they’ve shared have previously gone viral. There are all kinds of ways you can cook the Boneless Butterfly Chicken for an easy meal, especially because it comes in various marinade flavours, such as Spiced Mango, Greek Style and Spicy BBQ.

The best part is it can be cooked in under an hour with just two other ingredients: 1 cup of rice and two cups of stock.

Of course, mums are experimenting and adding vegetables and other ingredients too.

One mum shared her version of the recipe in the Aldi Mum’s Facebook group, saying, “I finally did it! I was so nervous, but the baked butterfly chicken turned out beautifully.”

She doubled the recipe and added 2 cups of rice and 4 cups of stock, meaning it took a little bit longer to cook – but they had leftovers!

As well as rice and stock, the mum said she added leftover pumpkin and beetroot, uncooked broccoli, carrot, brussel sprouts and mushrooms.

The result?

“Husband and two-year-old gobbled it up. It’s officially in our dinner rotation.”
