Summer 2019 has seen some interesting ice-cream releases. Peters collaborated with Messina, ginger beer ice cream was launched by Gelatissimo and Woolworth’s added hot cross bun ice cream to their shelves. Unfortunately, those of us living a vegan lifestyle haven’t been able to freely enjoy these creamy, ice-cold desserts. But that is all about to change.
Iconic ice cream brand Streets (home of the Paddle Pop, Golden Gaytime and Bubble O’Bill to name the greats!) has dropped a whole bunch of vegan ice creams.
Vegan Magnums, Cornettos and Weis Bars, plus four Ben & Jerry’s tubs have hit the ice-cream aisle at your local supermarket or convenience store.
The Cornettos are available exclusively from Woolworths and is made from soy ice cream, hazelnuts and vegan chocolate. The Weis Bars and Magnums are dairy-free, and if you’re looking for a tub of Ben & Jerry’s then the almond milk-based flavours are for you, and include fudge brownie, cinnamon buns, peanut butter, and cookies and cream.
As yet there is no word if these new additions will be part of a permanent vegan line up, so it might be wise to get in and enjoy a vegan treat while you can.
