What’s in my cart: Black Friday edition
Looking for something specific?
Up until now, I’ve been writing a lot of ultra-practical Black Friday guides, like this one on the best Black Friday mattress sales. And while Black Friday is undoubtedly the best time to make any long-overdue big-ticket purchases, it’s also a great time to treat yourself to those little things you’ve been coveting all year. That’s why, in this ultimate wishlist, I’ve covered all kinds of categories, ranging from essential pieces to little luxuries (that are so much easier to justify when they’re on sale).
How I’m covering Christmas Shopping with Black Friday deals
If you don’t tick off your Christmas shopping while Black Friday sales are on, you’re missing out on some fantastic discounts. Personally, I make sure all of my Christmas shopping is done before the deals end, and most years, I save a few hundred as a result.
In 2025, I’m picking up my presents from the likes of David Jones, Maison Balzac, T2, and Boody. And before anyone says anything, high-quality socks do make a great Christmas gift, and they are exciting to receive; I won’t back down on this.
What to look for: Items that would usually be above budget, deals on widely loved brands, and gift packs.

Dyson Airwrap$849 $694, David Jones

The Olive Bottle$193 $154.40, Maison Balzac

Tea & Books: Festive Classics Tea Bag Gift Pack$85 $36, T2

3-Pack Giftbox – Ribbed Crew Socks$42.95 $30.07, Boody
Wishlist-worthy Black Friday furniture finds
Since moving into a new, and larger, home, I’ve been combing through my favourite online interior stores to find beautiful staples that don’t break the bank; an effort that proved futile until these huge Black Friday furniture sales dropped. With huge savings now available on a range of different furniture items, I’m upgrading worn-out pieces and investing in wishlist pieces (and heavily considering the Lounge Lover’s sofa I’ve been eyeing for months).
For incredible deals on design-led pieces, I find that Lounge Lovers, Castlery, MCM House, Temple & Webster, and James Lane always deliver, and their 2025 Black Friday sales are not ones you’ll want to miss.
What I look for: Sales on big-ticket items like sofas, mattresses, and dining tables. Outdoor furniture and statement pieces are also great options for Black Friday shoppers.

Loft 5-Seat Sofa$4999 $3499, Lounge Lovers

Seb Extendable Dining Set$1757 $1518 at checkout, Castlery

Blair Queen Bed, Walnut$749.99 $637.49, Castlery

Black Friday kitchenware deals for dreamy holiday hosting
Most, if not all, of us have at least a few worn-out pans, plates and other kitchenware items taking up precious cupboard space. Now that Black Friday is in full swing, there’s never been a better time to swap the old for some brand-new staples. This year, I’m looking for Black Friday sales on plates, cookware, and hosting essentials, and I think I’ve found some top-tier options.
Over the course of my kitchenware hunt, I found Royal Doulton, Our Place, Maison Balzac (a personal favourite), and Kitchen Warehouse really stood out, both in terms of quality and discounts.
What to look for: Replacements for worn-out pots and pans, as well as hosting staples, including dinnerware, glassware and platters, to help you prepare for the festive season.

Gordon Ramsay Denim Line 12 Piece Dinnerware Set$259 $129.50, Royal Doulton

Perfect Pot$275 $219, Our Place

Bordeaux Wine Decanter$199 $159.20, Maison Balzac

Spiegelau Definition Bordeaux Wine Glass Set of 6$420 $169.95, Kitchen Warehouse
The best tech upgrades with Black Friday discounts
As all the newest gadgets usually boast large price tags, Black Friday is the perfect opportunity to finally upgrade all those tech products that aren’t working quite as well as they used to. This year, I’ll be looking out for Black Friday tech sales on elevated essentials like framed TVs and robot vacuums (as well as lifestyle gadgets, like the Ultrahuman Ring Air and Sony Headphones as my designated ‘fun’ purchases).
In terms of retailers, I’m hunting down the best Black Friday tech sales from The Good Guys, Amazon, Myer, and Kogan.
What to look for: Big ticket items like televisions and robot vacuums, deals on popular items that rarely go on sale, and those with a good warranty.

TCL NXTFrame TV, 55″$1295 $995, The Good Guys

ECOVACS DEEBOT T30S Pro$1999 $649, Amazon

Ultrahuman Ring Air$449 $599, Ultrahuman

Sony Noise Cancelling Headphones$549 $329.95, Myer
The ultimate Black Friday fashion finds for a wardrobe upgrade
As someone who can’t shake the mindset that she has absolutely nothing to wear, I’m choosing to invest in staples when shopping 2025’s Black Friday sales on clothing, shoes and accessories. My priorities? Replacements for my (very well-loved) Levi’s, some comfy slides, and a work bag that doesn’t feel like a work bag.
THE ICONIC is my go-to for a discounted wardrobe restock, but I’ll also be combing through the sales at Charles & Keith, Levi’s, and David Jones.
What to look for: Versatile, trans-seasonal pieces, closet staples like jeans, bags, and T-shirts, and summer footwear.

Lyla Tubular Slouchy Tote Bag$179 $143.20, Charles & Keith

Small-Link Chain Bracelet$299 $239.20, Pandora

Levis Cinch Baggy Jeans$199 $99, THE ICONIC

Birkenstock Boston Suede, Narrow$317 $237.75, THE ICONIC
How I’m spoiling my pup with 2025’s best Black Friday pet deals
All pet owners know that it’s much easier to justify a Black Friday impulse purchase for your pet rather than for yourself. While my mini dachshund has every toy and treat she could ever need, that never stops me from taking advantage of the year’s biggest sales on pet products; after all, it’s the best time to buy her Christmas presents (and yes, she does have her own Christmas stocking).
Top pet retailers I’m keeping an eye on for Black Friday pet sales include Dog Friendly Co., PetBarn, PetStock, and Amazon
What to look for: Sales on essentials like bulk food, flea and tick treatments and treats. Orthopedic dog beds and car seats are also worthwhile Black Friday buys, as they can be pretty pricey when they’re full price.

Royal Canin Adult Dog Food 7.5kg,
2 Pack$271.98 $201.26, PetBarn

Chill Pill Memory Foam Dog Bed$219 $175.20, Dog Friendly Co.

Kong Wild Knots Giraffe$27.47 $21.98, PetStock

Sicilaien Dog Car Seat for Small Dogs$49.98 $39.98, Amazon
What you need to know for smarter Black Friday shopping
In 2025, Black Friday lands on the 28th of November, with Cyber Monday taking place the following week. Even though the date hasn’t quite hit yet, Black Friday sales are in full swing, and to get the best deals, you’ll want to get in early.
You can find a full list of deals on our ultimate Black Friday sale guide, but some of the best discounts I’ve seen so far come from James Lane, Myer, Koala, Amazon, and The ICONIC.
Not usually; holding out until the official event could lead to your top wishlist items being sold out. Prices occasionally drop further on the actual date of Black Friday, but there’s no guarantee. Personally, I start shopping for the items I know I want to pick up about two weeks ahead, and keep my eyes out for additional deals as the date draws closer.
