These delicious puddings and reindeer are the perfect bite-sized treats for Christmastime! For those who crave something a little bit sweet after a big dinner, serve these festive titbits.

These puddings and reindeer make the perfect festive snacks! With mars bar flavouring and Christmas looks, what could be a better sweet treat?

Note: in addition to the 60mins preparation time listed above, you will also need to chill your treats for 40mins (puddings) or 65mins (reindeer).

Method

1.

In a small saucepan, melt Mars bars, butter and golden syrup, stirring on low heat until smooth.

In large bowl, combine Rice Bubbles, sultanas and Mars bar mixture until cereal is incorporated. To make Reindeers, go to Step 7. To make Puddings, go to Step 3.

Line an oven tray. To make Puddings, working quickly, using slightly damp hands, shape 1/4 cupfuls of mixture into rounds and put on tray. Refrigerate for 30 minutes until firm.

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt milk chocolate melts on MEDIUM heat (50% power) in 30-second bursts, until melted and smooth. Using 1 ball at a time, and using 2 forks to hold the ball, dip ball in melted chocolate, shaking off excess. Put on lined oven tray. Repeat with remaining balls and chocolate and refrigerate for 20 minutes until set.

Repeat Step 4 method to melt white chocolate melts. Decorating one pudding at a time, dollop a teaspoon of melted white chocolate onto balls, allowing chocolate to drip down edges to form tops of puddings.

Press on mint leaves and M&M’s. Repeat with remaining chocolate, leaves and M&M’s. Refrigerate for 15 minutes until set.

To make Reindeers, line an 18 x 24cm slice pan with baking paper. Press mixture into pan and flatten with back of a spoon. Refrigerate for 20 minutes until firm. Use a 7cm round cutter to cut rounds from mixture. Use offcuts to cut extra rounds. Put on a baking paper-lined tray and refrigerate for 20 minutes to firm.

Pour gold sprinkles onto a dinner plate (don’t spread them out too much). Repeat Step 4 method to melt dark chocolate. Transfer melted dark chocolate to a snaplock bag and snip a small edge from 1 corner. Pipe small antlers onto sprinkle mix. Set aside for 10 minutes to firm.

Repeat Step 4 method to melt milk chocolate melts. Working with 1 round piece at a time, dip 1 flat side into chocolate, shake off excess and return to tray, chocolate-side up. While chocolate is still wet, press on antlers, candy eyes, Jaffa nose and Life Savers ears. Set aside for 20 minutes to firm.
