It’s safe to say that no-one likes cleaning the toilet. Although unavoidable, there’s one trick to help put the task off a little longer.
Toilet bombs are similar to a bath bomb (but for your toilet). They eliminate smells while giving your throne a quick clean.
How to make toilet bombs
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups bi-carb soda
- ½ cup citric acid
- Drops of essential oils (lavender or orange)
- 2 teaspoons sweet almond oil or light vegetable oil
- 1 tablespoon dish soap
- Vinegar and water mixed equally (optional)
- Ice tray cube tray
Method
Step 1
For the base mix, sieve together bi-carb and citric acid in a large mixing bowl. Stir in the washing up liquid.
Step 2
Add essential oils.
Step 3
Take the dry mix and fill your ice cube tray.

Mix equal parts vinegar and water in a spray bottle and wet the cubes.
Step 5
Leave to dry.
