As any dedicated Potterhead will tell you, the best wizarding stores that celebrate the Boy Who Lived are pretty much all located in the UK. Without the aid of flu powder or a portkey, that trip is just a little too far for most people to make. And while there are plenty of places to buy Potter-themed books and collectibles online, it just isn’t quite as magical as walking into a real-life shop full of wands, brooms, cauldrons and butter beer.
Determined to right an incredible wrong, one family has started a business and set up shop in Collingwood, Victoria, and Samford, Queensland.
The Store of Requirement is a wizard-themed retail establishment that will please even the fussiest of young witches and wizards. They sell officially licensed merchandise, memorabilia and collectibles, and go out to their way to stock unique products that can’t be found anywhere else in Australia.
We can also solemnly swear that you’ll enjoy gorging yourself on Butterscotch brew and magical cakes at the in-store common room, or attending one of the many wizard-themed events hosted by the Store of Requirement, such as Quidditch tournaments and tea-leaf reading. For those who aren.t in Melbourne or Queensland, you can also visit the online store.
As you might have guessed, the stores name is inspired by the Room of Requirement that first appeared in the fifth Harry Potter book. So, if you’re looking for a place to stock up on spell books and chocolate frogs, then Slyther-in to the Store of Requirement.
