How to Remove Shower Soap Scum with baking soda
You will need
- 1/2 cup of baking soda
- 1 small squeeze of dishwashing detergent
- 1 cup of water
Method
Step 1
Create a cleaning solution by mixing 1/2 cup of baking soda, a light squeeze of dishwashing detergent, and 1 cup of water. Mix until the consistency is similar to cake batter or a slightly runny paste.
Step 2
Grab an old toothbrush or light scrubbing tool to apply your solution to the soap scum. Let the solution sit for about 20 minutes.
Step 3
After waiting for 20 minutes, give the area another gentle scrub and rinse with warm water. Wipe down completely with a clean towel or microfibre cloth.
To note
Keep in mind that due to the abrasive nature of baking soda, you should take care while cleaning shower glass as scrubbing too hard could cause scratches.
How do you prevent soap scum?
It’s as simple as cleaning your shower daily. The next time you’ve got a hair mask in, give your screen a quick wipe down. Another easy preventative measure is to switch soaps. Switching to liquid soap from the bar kind will keep soap scum at bay.
