The Heeler family home has been listed on Domain, and its sparked interest from both young and old alike around the nation.
The weatherboard Queenslander set high on a hill is a familiar house for everyone that watches Bluey. Surrounded by jacarandas and a tall standing palm, this iconic household is almost as important as the Heeler family itself.
As the backdrop to most episodes of Bluey, this Brisbane home is a regular on our screens, but that may change in the coming months.
Domain has officially listed the 3 bedroom, 4 bathroom home on the market.
In the two new episodes that aired over the weekend (7 April), Bluey and her family set off on a moving-house adventure. The children’s TV show often touches on difficult subjects, but Joe Brumm, series creator and writer, has told Domain that this may be the toughest storyline yet.
He explains that “It feels like after three seasons the house itself has become a sort of fifth Heeler character. Some past episodes have touched on how a room can become imbued with memories and take on a life of its own. But families leave houses all the time.”
Taking from his own personal childhood journey, Brumm describes the selling and moving house experience as something a lot of viewers can relate to, both in adults and children alike.
Since the show aired in 2018, the Heeler family, including daughters Bluey and Bingo, mum Chilli and dad Bandit, have lived in the quintessential Brisbane home. Bluey and her family have explored many recognisable areas of Brisbane, including South Bank and New Farm Park.
Setting the show in an area that is just so ‘very very Queensland’ (as Ludo Studio’s production manager Rhiannon Steffensen describes) has been vital to its success.
Now in the third season of the show, Ludo Studio has decided that it’s the right time to move on and set up in a new area.
For all the Bluey fans out there curious about where the move will take the Heeler family, the only thing to do is watch the upcoming episodes! You can view the actual listing of the Heeler home on Domain, and don’t forget to tune in to the 28-minute Bluey special airing this Sunday April 14.
