STEPS

1. Set out all the tools and materials before you start because you need to work fast with the quick-set concrete.

2. Use a utility knife to trim the top from the bottle, about 30mm down, to widen the opening slightly and make it easier to pour the concrete quickly.

3. Use the pipe cutter to cut a length of copper pipe to fit into the bottle, leaving about 10mm protruding.

4. Apply silicone into the copper cap, push in the copper pipe and leave to dry.

5. Wearing gloves, glasses and mask, use the jug to measure out five parts concrete into the round plastic basin.

6. Add two parts water and use a scraper to mix the concrete and water thoroughly, working quickly.

7. Measure out one part oxide and sprinkle it over the mixture, combining it slightly to give a marbled effect.

8. Scoop the concrete into the bottle to about 50mm from the top.
