A brand new limited-edition rainbow layer cake has just dropped at Woolworths. With four layers of rainbow-tinted sponge sandwiched between cream cheese buttercream icing, the colourful creation is crowned with a shower of rainbow sprinkles.
From today until March 7, shoppers will be able to purchase the 350g sponge cake in select Woolworths stores across NSW and the ACT (while stocks last). Click here to purchase the cake.
Priced at $10, the supermarket giant has launched the dessert to help support LGBTQ+ families. Packaged in a clear container, $1 from every sale is set to be donated directly to Rainbow Families, an organisation that provides support to LGBTQ+ parents, carers and their children across NSW. The organisation has been in operation since 2016 and hosts family playgroup sessions, monthly social group catch-ups and new parent support programs.
Rainbow Families Executive Officer, Ashley Scott, shared: “We are thrilled to be part of this delicious initiative.”
Woolworths is a proud partner of 12 regional and metropolitan pride and LGBTQ+ events across Australia. These events are in addition to the ongoing engagement of the Proud at Woolworths Group team across Australia, Asia and New Zealand and activities and partnerships to support days of significance such as Wear it Purple Day and RainbowYOUTH in the Group’s stores, support offices, distribution centres and local communities.
