With thousands of products on supermarket shelves, working out what’s genuinely worth your money can leave you scratching your head. This year, ALDI ditched the guesswork and teamed up with DoorDash to identify the products Australians keep buying again and again.
The result is the 2026 People’s Picks Awards: nine categories, nine gold-medal products, based entirely on genuine purchasing behaviour. The standout takeaway? Eight of the nine winners cost under $5, proving that Australia’s most-loved products are also some of its most affordable. Here’s the list.
The 2026 ALDI People’s Picks gold winners
The charcuterie champ: Damora Eton original crackers (225g), $1.49
The Damora Eton Original Crackers deliver a simple, crispy, original-flavoured crunch, the kind of no-frills cheese-board staple that makes it easy to see why it took Gold in “The Charcuterie Champ” category.
Senior content producer Rachel Iorfino wholeheartedly agrees with this winning product.
“Etons are the rulers in our house for crackers, and always rank above Jatz and Ritz for us. The price point is ideal, and I swear they’re crispier than the other brand options.”
The convenience kings: Elmsbury spinach & ricotta triangles 12 Pack (360g), $3.29
The Elmsbury spinach & ricotta triangles are puff pastry parcels filled with ricotta and spinach, making them an easy and delicious freezer-to-oven option.
Digital editor Tahni Mesann says, “You know when you try a new, experimental recipe and it doesn’t quite turn out how you were hoping it would? Yeah, I keep a packet of Elmsbury Spinach and Ricotta triangles in my freezer for exactly this purpose.
“They’re so easy to pop in the air-fryer when you need an extra entree to entice the family to the table. They’re seriously delicious too, and I love dipping them in a bit of tomato sauce.”
The grill masters: Jindurra Station 5-star beef mince (500g), $9.99
The Jindurra Station 5 Star Beef Mince is 100% Australian beef and is a straightforward, no-frills option that rounds out its Gold win in “The Grill Master” category. As one BHG commenter said: “Five star mince meat — the only ‘supermarket’ mince that doesn’t ooze a tonne of water during cooking.”
The rise & shine: Bakers Life all butter croissants 3 pack (189g), $2.29
At $0.76 a croissant, the gold winner is also made locally with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives.
The clean sweep: Almat laundry liquid (2L), $1.99

What our BHG readers say
We asked the Better Homes and Gardens Australia Facebook audience: what do you go to ALDI specifically for? Receiving over a thousand replies, the results tell a slightly different story to the official awards.
While ALDI’s data crowns products across nine curated categories, our readers kept coming back to one word product above all others: cheese. It was mentioned more than twice as often as any other product in the comments.
Here’s an unofficial list of the products the BHG audience ducks in Aldi for.
Reader mentions, ranked:
- Cheese — the clear people’s champion, name-checked from block cheddar to spreadable goat’s cheese and marinated feta
- The middle aisle — less a product, more a lifestyle; readers describe it as “the mad sh!t section,” “the aisle of shame” and the reason they “walk out with a thousand things I didn’t realise I needed”
- Chocolate — Choceur blocks and the Moser Roth range earned repeat mentions
- Coffee — beans and pods for ALDI’s own machine came up again and again
- Butter and laundry liquid — tied for fifth, both prized for quality-to-price ratio

It’s ALDI’s 2026 awards program that identifies Australia’s most popular products across nine categories. Unlike traditional awards based on surveys or public voting, the winners were determined using real ordering data from ALDI’s partnership with DoorDash.
ALDI and DoorDash used actual purchasing data to see which products Australians buy again and again, rather than relying on surveys, panels, or customer votes. The idea was to reflect genuine buying habits instead of stated preferences.
