Smith's chips have been recalled in Australia
Food Standards Australia issued an alert warning consumers that the plastic pieces could cause injury or illness if consumed.
The identified packets include:
- Smith's cheese and onion 45 gram and 170g packets, available at Woolworths, Coles and convenience stores in NSW and Qld.
- Smith's original six pack and the 19g packets, available in the 20-pack Fun Mix sold in NSW, Qld, Vic, SA and WA.
The date markings to look for:
- Smith's Cheese and Onion 45g & 170g — Best Before 17 SEP 23 (marked with DA), Time stamp between 20:28 – 22:28.
- Smith's Original 6 pack and Smith's Original 19g included in the 20 pack Fun Mix — Best Before 10 SEP 23.
Where to find the batch numbers on Smith's chips
If you've recently purchased a packet, check the batch number on the top left corner of the foil packets. For the Fun Mix boxed 6-pack chips, you will find the batch number in the centre of the top of the box.
