The good news, according to one professional organiser, is there are some items in your wardrobe that you absolutely should not organise.
Enter the ‘tidy toss’ method for organising your clothes.
What is the tidy toss method?
The tidy toss is a term coined by Instagrammer Holly Blakey (@breathing.room.home). Sharing her method on Instagram, Holly says she doesn’t neatly organise her hats, sandals or swimsuits (among other things).” Instead, she has baskets and bins to toss them into. Aka, the ‘tidy toss’.
If you don’t want a basket for each item of clothing, you could make a seasonal basket to put all of your summer essentials like hats, swimmers and beach wraps in. Or maybe you want to throw all your socks in one to save you from trying to pair and fold all of your socks together.
Fans of Holly’s are loving this wardrobe organisation tip.
“I’ve always done this with my boyfriend’s socks (so long as it’s a matching pair), and now that I know it’s called Tidy Toss, I say it every time,” wrote one commenter.
Another added: “My favourite tidy toss is the baskets on the top shelf that I can’t reach so I throw it up and pray it makes it in the right basket.”
