For the month of September, Sydney Oyster Farm Tours has joined forces with Glenglassaugh Whisky to offer Australians an incredible ‘sea-to-table’ whisky and oyster experience.

The Glenglassaugh Whisky Immerse Yourself experience starts at Kangaroo Point, where guests hop on for a guided boat tour of the oyster farm on the Hawkesbury River.

On the tour, you learn about the differences between a Pacific Oyster and a Sydney Rock, the farming process and even have the opportunity to ask any burning questions.

If you’re worried about your clothes getting wet, don’t fret as the tour provides waders to get changed into. But we recommend wearing casual and warm clothing, a pair of sunglasses and fluffy socks to make slipping in and out of the suit a breeze.

Sit back and enjoy the views because in less than an hour, you’ll be transported to a secluded cove for shucking. Think white tableclothed tables topped high with oysters, in-shell prawns, lemon wedges and some delicious homemade mignonette.

If you’ve never shucked an oyster, it’s a relatively easy skill to pick up and there are also on-site experts to help guide you.
