Ever picked up a pair of knitting needles, paused mid-row and thought, “Am I doing this right?” Well, so has Nobody Wants This actress, Kristen Bell. We know she can sing, dance, and act but did you know she’s also an avid knitter?
On a recent episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon she admitted to knitting between takes while filming. “It is the most calming thing for my brain to do,” she said.

The eternal work-in-progress
In her chat with Jimmy, she mentioned she took up knitting about two years ago and has been trying to master it ever since. But her next confession was so relatable. “I have about 13 or 14 projects started, but I’ve yet to finish any of them,” she said. “Because the one time I finished a project, it was a scary result.”
Jimmy then rolled a clip of Kristen attempting to put on a jumper she’d knitted herself. She couldn’t get her head through the neck hole. “It hurt my feelings,” Kristen said. Since then, she’s avoided finishing her projects, in case it results in similar disappointment. “Right when I get to the end of any project I have a hesitation like, ‘Don’t ruin this’, just let it be. Let it live at 95% in this drawer.”
“I like it,” joked Jimmy, “You’ll just have to shrink your head.”

Lesson? Always stick to the pattern
Kristen admitted to Jimmy that when making the sweater, she decided to go ‘off pattern’ after deciding that the numbers for the neck hole looked too big.
You can knit this jumper too!
The creator of the pattern, @erinbarryhair commented on Jimmy’s Instagram video, assuring others that her pattern was not faulty. “As the designer of this sweater I can confirm the pattern was written with a hole big enough for an adult head to fit through.”
