Charlie Albone, BHG’s very own gardening expert, and BHG interior design presenter Juliet Love have officially sold their stunning Maroubra coastal home after 4 years of renovating and only 20 days on the market.

The auction for this beautiful family home in Maroubra was meant to be on February 22, 2025 with Woollahra’s Randall Kemp real estate. The price guide for the auction was $3.4 million and we can only assume it sold for the asking price or more because it got snapped up before making it to auction.

Charlie announced the sale of their home on 20th February with a fun reel asking how many cushions it takes for Juliet to sell a home.

How did they get here?

Charlie and Juliet bought the Sydney property in 2019 for $2.3 million and over the years, they gave it the ultimate facelift, transforming the red-brick facade semi into a weatherboard stunner. It now features four bedrooms, two bathrooms and, of course, an award-winning garden. It’s also only a short walk from Mahon Pool and Maroubra Beach, making it an idyllic coastal sanctuary.

Juliet Love used coastal colours

Juliet took charge of the home’s interiors, drawing inspiration from the seaside location. She used natural textures such as rattan and marble, neutral tones and touches of blue for a contemporary, coastal feel. She designed a gourmet kitchen fit for home chefs with an integrated fridge, dishwasher and stovetop. But it’s the striking marble tile splashback with tones of the ocean that most catches the eye, along with imported Nicolazzi brass tapware.

Charlie Albone’s award-winning garden

In the garden, Charlie created a green paradise. There’s a section for outdoor dining, lush foliage, and a manicured lawn with stepping stones that lead to the main attraction – a beautiful, resort-style pool. But it isn’t an ordinary pool: it has a heat pump and a low-tox magnesium filter. Beyond is a gorgeous poolside cabana with an imported scalloped marble wall – perfect for drying off after a swim on a sunny day – and a luxurious sauna.

It’s no wonder this garden won Best Residential Design (80-200 sq metres) in the 2024 Landscape Excellence Awards.

A new project is coming…

Juliet and Charlie announced the property was for sale on the 1st February via Instagram while teasing there’s a new project in the works.

“We’ve spent the past 4 years designing & perfecting this house, and now it’s up for sale so you can enjoy it too! A healthy home is really important to us, so we’ve added a whole house water filter, magnesium pool, and a beautiful {award-winning!} garden in which to relax. Come take a look! Plus we’ve started a brand new renovation project which we’re so excited about & will be sharing more of soon!”
