Small tweaks that will elevate your kitchen

1. Add a cute hook

Adding a pretty hook to your wall, inside the pantry or on the side of existing cabinetry can give you a place to hang your reusable grocery bags, tea towels or other kitchen paraphernalia that tends to just ‘hang around’.

2. Line your drawers

You might not be able to redecorate the whole space, but you can certainly personalise your drawers. Use wallpaper, wrapping paper or whatever else inspired you to line the drawers of your kitchen so you see a bright pop of cheery colour every time you go to set the table or find a utensil.

3. Use trays

Pick up a stylish tray from Kmart, Target or even H&G Home and corral all the kitchen must-have them seems to live on the bench (such as cooking oils, herbs, condiments, etc) and arrange them all on the tray. Now the bench space looks purposeful and organised rather than cluttered. Take it one step further by decanting everything into matching shakers or dispensers.

4. Plant a windowsill garden

Not only is it useful to have freshly-picked herbs on hand for cooking, but the added greenery will bring a little of the outside in, and make your kitchen feel more stylish.

5. Hang art

Art isn’t just for living rooms and bedrooms, it can be hung at any location in your house that needs a focal point or pop of colour. If your kitchen is feeling dreary and you’ve got a bare expanse of wall, try finding an eye-catching artwork that will pop in the space and hanging it up there.

6. Change the knobs

A bland kitchen can be interesting again simply by changing the knobs on your cabinets and doors. Go for something sleek and shiny if it will make your kitchen feel more modern, or opt for more decorative or kitsch styles if your kitchen has an older feel.
