It’s no secret that Woolworths’ legendary $4.80 mud cake is the most hackable cake in Australia, but this latest version has captured a legion of fans: hook, line and sinker.
The clever cake transformation caused a stir when it was shared to the popular Facebook page, Woolies/Coles Mudcake hacks.
“The quickest cake hack ever for my partner who loves fishing,” said the chef.
The cute fish was created by simply cutting a slice out of a round cake for a mouth and attaching it to the other side as a tail. And it only took 20 minutes!
The cake was decorated with chocolate sticks around the outside of the cake, attached with buttercream icing.
A giant marshmallow and a brown Smartie was used to create an eye, and a bag of Smarties completed the colourful fish.
The impressive hack has received over 5,700 likes on Facebook and attracted up to 500 comments.
“How freaking cool and so clever!” one woman wrote. “My type of hack. This is amazing,” wrote another.
“All you need is yellow lollies and it could be Pac-Man!” suggested a third. “Would be great as rainbow fish from the book too,” chimed in another.
