Home Cook Love is Australia’s first online marketplace that curates unique and hand-crafted artisanal products for your kitchen. We spoke to the founder, Alicent Wong, for Alicent’s advice on creating a gorgeous Christmas table on a budget. The best bit? They’re all DIY friendly.
1. Light the way
“Candles are simple and affordable but add so much warmth to a Christmas table setting. Use whatever you have at home, pillar, tealight or floating candles.”
2. Add a rustic touch
“Springs of herbs not only add taste to your dishes, but add the perfect rustic feel to your Christmas table. Rosemary and Thyme are great, just tie them up with some string and place them at each setting.”
3. Bring in blooms
“Fresh flowers have an innate ability to put a smile on anyones face and brighten up a table. Go traditional with poinsettia, or just pick your favourite blooms.”
4. Make it personal
“Make personalised name tags for your guests by tying a handwritten tag their name on it to a cinnamon stick and a small herb sprig with jute string.”
5. Runner’s up
“Table runners are a simple yet stylish addition to your Christmas table. Mix and match colours and designs to compliment the look that you’re going for.”
