Brenda had looked into the appetisers on offer from her caterer for cocktail hour, and realised she could create something just as good herself.
We spoke to Brenda about how they were created, and the result from guests, and the overwhelming response was with ‘great enjoyment!’.
Brenda explained that “We did have several people ask about them during the cocktail hour. Since we had other offerings on the table, some guests were able to have a couple cups each!”
These charcuterie cups were filled with cheese, meats, artisan crackers, tomatoes, fruit and chocolate. Here’s a checklist to follow so you can make it yourself.
How to make DIY Charcuterie Cups
You will need:
- Small cups or containers
- Cubed mozzarella
- Cubed cheddar (or any cheese you wish to use)
- Cherry tomatoes
- Red grapes
- Trail mix
- Chocolate (packaged separately)
- Small skewers
To build your DIY charcuterie cups, it is best to begin with a layer of trail mix at the bottom of the cup. This will stabilise all of your other ingredients, and give you a nice mix of nuts and fruits to eat at the end.
Next, use the small skewers to create mini skewers of cubed cheese, tomato and grape. Assemble all of your other charcuterie ingredients together in the cup, and you’re ready to serve.
How long do DIY Charcuterie Cups take to make?
These cute little cups do not take that much time – between shopping for the ingredients and assembling, Brenda and her family managed to make 200 cups in a couple of hours. They recommend building the small skewers before putting the cups together for easy assembling.
These DIY Charcuterie Cups are a cost-effective and beautiful way to serve up all your fancy cheeses and delectable meats. Give it a try for your next big party!
