Gnats are attracted to moist soil, so making sure you don’t over water your plants is a great way to prevent fungus gnats from appearing in the first place.
However, if the gnats are already a problem in your house plants, there is a very simple product that can help: sticky gnat traps.
The yellow sticky bug traps are specially designed for flying plant pests. As well as being made from high-quality glue to keep bugs from escaping, they are non-toxic and double-sided for maximum effectiveness.
These traps can be hung from a branch of the plant, or placed directly into the soil to catch any unwanted critters. By reducing the adult population, you'll also reduce how many eggs are laid in the soil of your plants.
Check the traps every few days and replace them when they become covered with gnats. Avoid touching the plant leaves with the sticky paper.
Customers who have bought this product say it actually worked.
“These yellow sticky insect catchers work surprisingly well,” said one reviewer. “I’ve been having a gnat problem in my greenhouse, so I placed these in random spots around in the pots attached to the green holders. The white fly’s and gnats seem very attracted to the yellow colour and then stick to them and die. It’s a great natural insect control that doesn’t require the use of chemicals.”
Another added: “Works like a charm. Super easy to use and has been really effective in catching the insects. The number of insects flying around the house has visibly reduced.”
“Solved our little bug problem around our plants! Easy to use and an inexpensive, chemical-free solution to a little bug problem,” said another.
