There is a growing resentment among residents as visitors flock into the town, Noosa Mayor Tony Wellington told Sunrise.
"At Christmas and Easter or when we have big events Noosa grows to capacity," he said.
"There is a bit of resentment starting to appear from residents with regard to peak seasons because of traffic congestion, the number of events occurring and road closures associated with those events."
However it's not all bad news for people wanting to visit the area, with Mayor Wellington saying there are quiet times.
"During low season, such as now, there's plenty of opportunity for tourists."
