Going patchy?
Consider using a mulching plug. The mulching plug stops the clippings from going into a catcher. This is perfect for those patchy areas putting nutrients back into the soil to assist with regrowth of thinning areas.
Let’s talk blades!
For Swingback blades, never sharpen them. These need to be replaced. While you’re at it, replace the nut, bolt and washers as well.
For bar blades, take care and make sure and give out equal treatment… whatever you do to one side of the blade, do the same to the other. Any sign of splits, cracks or chips then replace the blades immediately. Good sharp blades will cut the grass cleaner, and puts less load on to the engine for better efficiency.
