The right spot
Most flowering plants need lots of sunshine to thrive. For shady spots, try hydrangeas and impatiens.
Use a top quality potting mix when planting containers. Never use garden soil, as it doesn’t drain effectively.
Flowering plants need good nutrition. Mix slow-release fertiliser into the potting mix at planting stage, and apply periodic doses of soluble fertiliser throughout
the growing season.
Pots are thirsty things during summer. Water daily in hot weather and every 2-3 days when the weather is mild.
