3. Relying on poor lighting
Like photography, it's all about the lighting. Avoid dim and soft lights, which can make small kitchens look even tinier. Try changing up your light bulbs to brighter ones, replacing them entirely or even adding extra lights.
4. A dark colour palette
As many fashionistas wear dark colours to look slimmer, it's a similar concept in the kitchen. Hillary Stamm of HMS Interiors said “Dark wood or painted cabinets can look great, but consider keeping the dark colours on the lower cabinets and making upper cabinets or shelves a lighter colour to give more visual breathing room."
5. Installing a tiny sink
Killy Scheer of Scheer & Co. Interior Design suggests larger, single-basin sink can help with making your kitchen feel more expansive. Having one giant space (instead of tiny compartments) will emphasise the width of your countertops.
