They disappeared as quickly as they were placed on the shelves. Many Bunnings stores had signs noting buying restrictions for the gnomes, however many were happy to announce they were able to purchase all four figurines.
Over social media, many Bluey fans expressed their joy in announcing they had ‘got their new husband’. In reference to a Bluey episode where Bingo picks up a garden gnome in Hammerbarn and declares the gnome as her ‘husband’, shoppers are now doing the same!
‘Got all my husbands today at Hammerbarn’ one happy customer exclaimed.
However, a large number of Bluey fans were unable to snatch up a gnome for themselves. While there have been many joyous customers over the weekend, Bunnings understood the fan disappointment and expressed "We are sorry to hear some customers missed out on a Bluey garden gnome this weekend."
So now the question remains, when will they be coming back in stock?
A Bunnings spokesperson divulged information about a restock to Better Homes and Gardens, stating that "There will be additional stock of the range dropping into selected stores soon and we are working hard to get this into stores as quickly as possible."
The final word from Bunnings is:
"There are still heaps of ways customers can get involved in the Hammerbarn fun this month including free Bluey-themed kids D.I.Y. workshops (more sessions to become available this week), scavenger hunts, face painting, colouring walls and so much more. "
