In the frame

Where your bathroom layout positions the shower in a nook surrounded by three walls, all you need to do is add the fourth – and the easiest DIY solution in this situation is to add a framed door and panel. When choosing what finish to go for, a white frame is a sensible choice against all-white wall tiles, as here. Psst… Note how a ladder nearby instantly increases towel storage in this room!

A single blade of glass is a fabulous shower screen solution when you desire that luxurious resort vibe in your bathroom. Here, an integrated rectangle floor drain takes the waste water with ease. While you’re in reno mode, have you thought about a heated towel rail? They’re particularly fab in the cooler months!

Frameless beauty

Are you after the complete enclosed shower look but don’t want it to appear all boxed in? Go for a frameless glass screen, consisting of a fixed blade wall and pivoting door. Here, the rectangle grate floor drain is neat and efficient, and also avoids ugly cut lines in your floor tiles.

Bathing beauty

An in-bath shower isn’t for everyone, but sometimes it’s the only space-saving solution. There are a couple of clever ideas to take note of here – the pivoting glass panel stops splashes (and no shower curtain needed!), the split shower system allows you to go from overhead to hand-held shower with ease and the little wall niche is a tidy solution for housing your shampoo and conditioner.

Double up!

On the topic of wall niches, take a look at this neat idea! If you need more space to store beauty products in your shower, aim to include more wall niches where possible. You won’t regret it!

Hot trends

As far as materials go, take your time to put together a well-curated collection of fixtures and fittings. Matt black tapware continues to be a desirable look in the bathroom, as does subway tiling – here, the black grout accentuates the detailing of the white tiles.
