In the September issue of Better Homes and Gardens, Georgina Bitcon offers a simpler solution for cleaning your bathroom. In fact, she says you only need 20 minutes!
How to clean your bathroom: a 20-minute routine
If you're stuck on what order to clean your bathroom, Georgina recommends this cleaning routine.
Step. 1: Toilet TLC
Start by squirting toilet cleaner into the bowl and under the rim. Let the cleaner work its magic while you move on to other tasks.
Step 2: Grab your all-purpose spray
Spray your favourite all-purpose cleaner on the bathtub, basin, vanity top, cistern cover, and taps. Ensure thorough coverage to break down dirt and grime effectively.
Step 3: Clean your mirror
Use a damp microfiber cloth to wipe down the mirror, removing any smudges or streaks. Take a dry cloth to polish the mirror and continue wiping the surfaces you sprayed earlier.
Step 4: Floor focus
Quickly spot-clean any marks or spills on the bathroom floor with your damp cloth, ensuring the floor looks clean and fresh.
Step 5: Back to the toilet
Return to the toilet and scrub it thoroughly with a toilet brush. Remember to clean the exterior surfaces of the toilet as well. Finally, flush the toilet to leave it sparkling clean.
Step 6: Check the mirror
Grab an old towel or lint-free cloth to give the mirror one final shine, making it crystal clear.
Step 7: Dampness control
We know that mould thrives on moisture, so grab a dry towel or cloth before leaving the bathroom and wipe down the wet surfaces. Alternatively, leave the exhaust running for at least 15 minutes.
This 20-minute routine allows you to maintain a clean bathroom with minimal time and effort. Setting a timer can help you stay on track and complete the routine efficiently.
