There’s a dog shelter in Costa Rica that looks after 900 stray pooches, and you can come and hang out with them.
Located in the mountains of Santa Bárbara, Territorio de Zaguates (The Land of the Strays), care for their pups. Volunteers give the pooches food, love, clean water, baths, beds, shelter and it’s a kill-free zone.
The four-legged friends run free by day and are supplied with indoor shelter by night.
You can adopt a dog, or you can just go there to take some of the cuties out for a walk. Make sure you book in though, because it’s getting pretty popular.
