STEP 1 Assemble all flat-pack cabinets, following manufacturer’s instructions. Clamp base cabinets together so front edges are flush. Predrill and screw together using 32mm wood screws.
STEP 2 Clamp 1 length of plywood benchtop to base cabinets so edges are flush with back and side of cabinet assembly. Predrill and screw up through cabinets to attach. Cut second benchtop length to fit remainder of base cabinets. Reserve offcuts.
STEP 3 With base cabinet assembly sitting upside down, clamp castor blocks to bottom of unit so flush with front and rear edges of cabinets, at each corner and in centre front and back. Screw through cabinets into castor blocks. Attach a castor to each block.
STEP 4 With unit right way up sitting on castors, place wall cabinets on benchtop so backs of wall cabinets are flush with back edge of benchtop. Clamp wall cabinets together and join using 32mm screws. To secure, screw through bottom of cabinets into benchtop.
STEP 5 Place slimline cabinets on top of wall cabinets. Make front edges flush, clamp and screw together. Screw down through slimline cabinets into wall cabinets.
STEP 6 Cut side cover panel to match profile of side of unit. Make height of panel the distance from top of the unit to the floor minus 10mm. Glue panel then attach to side of unit using 20mm nails, flush with top of unit. Repeat to cut and fit other side panel and rear cover panel.
STEP 7 Fill nail holes on panels with wood filler, let dry then sand smooth. Undercoat the side and rear panels then apply 2 coats of interior lowsheen acrylic, allowing to dry after each coat. Apply 2 coats of clear polyurethane coating to plywood benchtop, allowing to dry after each coat.
