Not giving in to the sweet face of our fur-babies when they hassle us for food is undeniably one of life’s great challenges. However, there are so many foods humans regularly eat that are toxic or deadly to our feline friends and canine companions, and it’s important to be aware of what these foods are, and what to do in the case that they’re ingested by our beloved pet.
Dr Cherlene Lee is a vet and the owner of My Vet Animal Hospital in Sydney, and she has identified 12 foods that are commonly found in our homes that can be toxic to cats and dogs.
“So many foods I love are toxic to fur-babies, when in doubt about a food, don’t feed it to them” says Cherlene. “If your fur-baby ever gets into any of this, you should call your vet immediately for a course of action.”
