Ever wondered how hotels get their towels so fluffy?
Speaking to Good Housekeeping the Head of Laundry at the London Hilton, Katarzyna Kuryle, reveals her tips for softer towels.
Shake it out
Before popping them in the wash, give them a good shake. Katarzyna said this opens the fibres, allowing the detergent to get right in there.
If you are using hard water to wash your towels, Katarzyna says, “Look for a specialist detergent with softening properties that will stop the texture of your towels turning harsh."
Don’t go too crazy with the fabric softener
Too much fabric softener can moisten the towel's fibres, causing it to lose absorbency.
If possible dry your towels outside, popping them into the dryer for a few minutes to “fluff” them up.
Add a tennis ball
This is a little left of field, but Katarzyna says adding a tennis ball to the dryer will also help to give your towels that fluffy look and feel.
