If you're ditching Australia during in winter in favour of a European summer, there’s a good chance you’ve booked a flight on the busiest day of the year.
According to The Independent, not only is Friday the worst day to fly in or out of an airport in the UK, Friday, August 25 is the key date to avoid.
This year has already seen a record-breaking day with 259,917 people flying through on Friday 30 June, which equals around four people per second.
In Australia, recent research revealed June is the worst month of the year to fly.
12,294 flights cancelled in June since 2010, compared to 11,183 in July over the same period.
The main reason for the cancellations is an increase of fog that appears during the winter months.
