Known as a comforting, hot drink, tea isn't your average beverage.
Full of antioxidants and other goodies, tea has many uses: some of which might surprise you.
Remove fridge odours
Pop your used tea bag on a plate or container and into the fridge to absorb any lingering odours.
Mix your freshly brewed tea with a seasoning of your choice. Marinate your meat overnight in the fridge.
Hang a pre-brewed tea bag over the edge of the pot to add flavour to your rice or pasta.
Place dried tea bags inside your shoes overnight to soak up any nasty smells.
Pain relief for a toothache
Placing a warm, wet bag of tea on the affected gum may help relieve pain and reduce swelling, due to the sharp tannins.
Reduce puffiness around eyes
Better Homes and Gardens beauty editor, Annie Millar, says: "Next time you make yourself a cup of green or black tea save the tea bags as a soothing treat for your eyes. Simply put them on a plate and leave them to chill in the fridge for 20 minutes, then lie back with the bags placed over your closed eyes for 15 minutes. The caffeine will help to shrink blood vessels and reduce puffiness."
